Phrasal Verbs help you sound more natural and more like a Native English speaker!! Here in this video I go over 5 common phrasal verbs that you can practice and you use yourself.The key to learning these new phrasal verbs is incorporate them in your every day speaking.

 

1. First phrasal verb is to come across. If you come across something or someone, you find them or meet them by chance.

 

2. Second phrasal verbs is to bring down make someone unhappy or depressed. "she was in such a good mood I couldn't bear to bring her down"

 

3. Third Phrasal verb is to cheer up. When you cheer up or when something cheers you up, you stop feeling depressed and become more cheerful. For example, I think he misses her terribly. You might cheer him up. Or another example is "I wrote that song just to cheer myself up"

 

4. Fourth is to find out. This means to obtain knowledge of something, or to obtain knowledge of someone's activities, esp. dishonest ones: For example, "How did you find out about the party?" and "I just found out that he was cheating on the test."

 

5. Fifth phrasal verb is to calm down and it is a widely used phrasal verb meaning to make someone or something less agitated. Two examples are: "Calm down and tell us what’s going on" and "She managed to calm him down." Free Seminar:
